La Trama: Culture, Education and Territory

La Trama is a programme run by Transductores, which sets up a dialogue between the exhibitions and the activities at Fabra i Coats: Centre d’Art Contemporani. It features the participation of educational communities, collectives and organisations in the network of non-profit and community entities in adjacent neighbourhoods, as well as the networks found in the part of the city they are connected to. Various actions and processes, all related to cultural rights and the right to the city, are included in three areas dedicated to research and creation:

"The White Cube Called into Question"
Actions and processes to try other ways of being in an art centre and of sharing an exhibition. The proposals rethink the artistic canon, opening connections with the context. Different critical perspectives are also experienced with the hierarchy and values that the art institution is associated with, using the Fabra i Coats: Contemporary Art Centre of Barcelona and Art Factory programme as a starting point.

"Crashing the Art Centre"
Actions and processes for covering questions and interests of the neighbourhoods and groups close to Fabra i Coats, through artistic methodologies. This line of work puts the aesthetic research and proposals of these groups on the same footing as that of the centre's programme, as a form of mutual questioning and exchange.

"Located Narratives"
Actions and processes for exploring possible narratives about Fabra i Coats and the objects that inhabit the centre. The artistic initiatives proposed are experimental and located, they approach the art centre thinking about it beyond the concept of container of culture, from the perspectives and memories that shape it in its everyday life.
